The tour starts from Muscat at 8:30 am heading towards the first stop of the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque which is considered as one of the largest and most charming mosques in world. It was built in 2001 as a gift from the former Sultan Qaboos to the nation. This glorious Mosque is an impressive piece of Islamic architecture. You will walk inside the mosque premises with our guide by going through five minarets and ending in the breathtaking main prayer hall where you will gain lots of knowledge about Oman and the Islamic culture in general.
Then in a drive, the tour will take you the spectacular Royal Opera House Muscat which has been built under direction from our late majesty, the Sultan Qaboos bin Said. The opera house reflects contemporary Omani architecture, and it has a capacity to accommodate 1,100 people at once. Through the tour, you will navigate inside to see the represented art of melody, which the late majesty, Sultan Qaboos bin Said, has always been a fan of and, in particular the classical ones.
Then, the tour will take you in a drive through one of the famous beach sides of Al Qurom to view the sea and the Mangrove Reserve. Then, the drive goes all the way allowing you stunning views of Muscat the capital. You will then reach at the fish market the old Muttrah to give you a taste of the Omanis ways of buying and selling daily and fresh fish. Then, you will visit Souq Muttrah, Muttrah Market, which is one of the oldest markets in Oman which is about 220 years old. Inside the market, you meet lots of traders selling souvenirs, traditional textiles, incense, frankincense, jewelry of silver and gold, etc.
After the Souq, you will have a local lunch where you will experience the local food in one of the local restaurants to have a real taste of oriental dishes.
After the lunch break, the tour will allow you a photo stop at Al Alam Palace, one of Muscat’s old historical parts. It has a history that goes back to over 200 years; it was built by Al-Said Sultan bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, and then it was renovated by the formal Sultan Qaboos bin Said AL Said in 1972 to be as an official place where distinguished visitors and guests can be received. This is a tourist destination which allows tourists to stop near the gates and take photographs to witness its unique architecture of golden and blue pillars. Al Alam Palace is surrounded by the-16th-century forts, Al Jalali and Al Mirani.
